Parkinson's Support Group April 25th Meeting Information

Dear {subtag:name},

Dear TAPSG Friends,

Everybody else is doing it; why don't we?

Let's get together in a ZOOM room to spend a little time catching up. We'll aim for Saturday at 10AM. The only agenda is to make sure everyone is fine. It'll be sort of a Pass the Microphone session.

Below is the invitation to join.
On Saturday at 9:50 or so, just click the link, or you might have to copy it and paste it into the URL at the top. It's a very easy process, so don't worry about breaking anything. If you want to practice in advance, call me with your computer nearby. It'll only take five minutes to master. 860-489-1677

CARE PARTNER PANEL - first of four this year
I received a notice from Eli Pollard who coordinates the World Parkinson Congress (next to be held in Barcelona'22). At each world congress they have a WPC Care Partner Lounge. It’s a space that brings the care community together for support, education, connection, and time to just relax.

WPC is offering four online sessions with expert panelists sharing their knowledge and tips. Each panel has one couple speaking about how they deal with the topic at hand. The first panel is on Tuesday, April 28 at 3PM ET (USA) and will look at medication management and the role of the care partner. Future panels will be in July, September and December.

Learn more and register on the WPC website at:

CARE PARTNER SUPPORT
As the leader of one of Alzheimer's GLOBAL Teams, I attended a convention in FL in January. There is a 24-7 Alzheimer's hotline for caregivers. Always looking for support for our community, I asked if they help other caregivers as well. They said they'd be happy to share any information they could that might prove useful.

The hotline number is 800-272-3900, always open. Call any time.

HOW TO STAY CONNECTED YOURSELF AND HELP OTHERS AT THE SAME TIME

1. Pick up the phone. People might be lonely and will appreciate hearing from you.
2. Schedule a virtual meeting with friends and family.
3. Make a date to walk with a friend, keeping social distance.
4. Exercise with an online group.
5. Don't keep your frustrations bottled up. Talk to someone.
